The Kulam project is a traveling live music and dance experience. A Kulam concert is a free-flowing, completely improvised, two to three hours-long live dance music journey, full of passion, invention, creativity, drama, and most of all, grooves that are impossible to ignore. Kulam means “everyone” in Hebrew – and our sessions indeed involve everyone in the creative process. Without a rigid structure or sheet music to guide the players, they are completely naked and exposed before the audience, inviting the listener and the player alike into a space of total trust. For the audience, coming along on a musical journey like this invites them to forget about their fears, limitations, preconceived notions, and surrender to the flow of music, like the musicians before their eyes do. Witness the birth of human expression with your own eyes and ears, and let your body be a part of it. A Kulam show is a drug-free high; it’s a therapy session; it’s a meditation circle; it is an opportunity to connect to the most basic flow of life, to look deep into the root, and float in the swift current of just being, right here, right now.
Kulam Project collaborate with local talent wherever they go. No single Event is the same; not only is the music different, but also the musical languages and content are different; we aim to tap into the roots of the land where we are engaging – and expose and support local talent to our ideas while also learning from them. Apart from dance journeys, Kulam is keen on doing community events wherever we play, getting people together in improvised sessions, immersing ourselves in the local cultures, enriching the communities that host us. Bringing deep rooted workshop facilitators , innovative yet ancient concepts both to the conscious and Unconscious.

Alice Rose, is a Danish singer-songwriter and she truly lives her music around the globe with long stays in spiritual communities in India and Thailand playing and singing beautiful, mesmerising and thoroughly modern music that captures the essence of the old world and the new. Her one-woman performances, stunning vocals and juggler’s skill using acoustic instruments, samplers, loopers, beat boxes, strings, keyboards, harmonicas and toys–all come together in a delicious concoction of electro-folk-equal parts trip-hop, pop, electronica and dance. She is a true adventurer in the music world today and is constantly exploring new ground.
On acoustic stages and the streets of the world, she carries and plays a unique acoustic instrument, called the autoharp. Autoharp is an american instrument, used mainly in bluegrass and country music, and with it’s angelic chord progressions, Alice has learned to play it beautifully and like no other performer. She now combines these unique skills with her other styles. Together with her Scandinavian voice: soft, raw, angelic, and her profound lyrics, she touches the listener straight in their core.
Alice Rose’s lyrics form deep connections with the heart of all audiences. She plays from her extensive collection of songs drawn from her life and love experiences. Just as in life her tracks are full of smiles, tears, heart break and joy. Contradictions and affirmations, woven and torn, calm and wild, rich and poor, grey and colourful, metropolis and village, large and small.
